“If I can make those three things occur and make a decent living doing it, then I feel successful. Two out of three doesn’t count, either.

Many of the dot.coms used to brag about how happy their employees were. They had tennnis courts, group trips to Bermuda, stock options, etc. But at whose expense? The bottom line wasn’t even considered. When they ran out of money, they failed. A local DC company, Hechinger’s, thrived for decades until they started underpaying their employees, who in turn stopped helping customers, who in turn shopped elsewhere. After 80 years Hechinger’s is out of business.

I am very proud to be at the helm of a small company that has no debt and a business plan that has functioned successfully for more than 25 years. I strive every day to make sure that my customers and employees are happy. I keep an eye on overhead and I plan ahead so that it stays that way. I have a great and fun job! I want all of my customers to feel that I am their advocate when it comes to getting cars repaired.

I want them to know that I see it as my responsibility and obligation to keep my employees trained, to establish worldwide connections to procure parts at reasonable prices, and to never take financial risks that could cause me to raise prices and thereby force my customers to pay for my mistakes. I will never be Donald Trump, but I will always be happy.

I am sure most of you reading this are already customers and I want to thank you for all of the referrals over the years. In 1986 I started my business by putting flyers on the windshields of cars. After 6 months I had to stop because I had too much work. I have been busy the last 25 years and have not advertised since, relying on referrals from my customers to keep me busy. In this economic climate we have seen about a 10% drop in our business, mostly due to customers putting off non-essential repairs. This is a downturn we can fortunately weather as we are usually backed up, sometimes weeks at a time. However, we are seeing the local dealers flooding the marketplace with carrot and stick ads, offering free oil changes to get you in the door to sell you all kinds of other things you may or may not need… at Dealership prices. Because of this I feel a responsibility to toss my hat into the ring and remind folks that we are here and ready to do the same quality and fair priced repairs we have been doing since we opened over two decades ago. I am not offering free oil changes or other bait and switch ploys, I am offering my ability, integrity, reputation, and my no-nonsense pricing structure that has been consistently 30-40% below Dealer prices for over 25 years. We have NEVER charged shop supply “Fees”, EPA compliance “Fees“, waste disposal “Fees”, or any other “Fees” that accountants dreamed up to muddy the waters. You will be charged for parts, labor and sales tax. You won’t be charged labor for replacement of taillight bulbs wiper blades or fuses either. We want our customers to feel like family, we answer the phones promptly and try and greet you the moment you walk in the door.

We don’t ever do any work that you have not fully authorized and we stand behind our work 100%. We invite you to Google us and we think you will be pleasantly surprised at what our customers have to say.

Specifically, we offer you more personal and honest service than the local dealers at a much lower price. We treat the patient, not the laboratory when it comes to repairs and do not believe in all of the extra add-on coolant flushes, brake fluid flushes, injection system cleanings, etc. that are added on as “up sells” virtually everywhere else. Some of these “preventive” measures cost more than replacing the components they are supposedly protecting.

If you are looking for an honest repair shop that you can count on to have the latest diagnostic tools and skills and still be happy to replace a taillight bulb with a smile and say “no charge” like the old days, then we hope you will consider seeing us for your next repair.
